1980’s
Born into a family with my Father being a racing driver, it was clear from day one it was in my blood to be involved into motorsport.
Unfortunately i was never allowed to race competitively growing up so i made the most of the garden and ruining the parents grass at home!
Racing life.
When I was age 21 back in 2011 I decided that I could afford to buy my own cheap race bike and take to the circuit for a track day to see how I got on, turns out I was pretty fast from the get go and a month or two later I was signed up for my first race meeting!
It was a Bemsee club race and turns out I won my first race!
A few races later that year I was racing in the Ducati 848 Challenge supporting the British Superbike Championship against some very seasoned professional riders!
The big jump.
After some great fun learning to race in 2011, a few of my Fathers contacts had been watching my progress and managed to arrange a meeting for me with the factory Yamaha Superbike team with the idea of joining the team in 2012, before i knew it I was signed up and heading out to Spain to test a 1000cc Yamaha R1.
Two monster crashes later and some modest track time we had come to the decision that it was too much of a jump on a big bike so we decided to swap to a Yamaha R6 and enter in the superstock 600 class at the British superbike championship ( Later found out the nickname for this class is the axe murderers).
It was an event-full year with a lot of pressure to do well but just too much of a challenge being my first real year racing and a new bike.
I learned an awful lot this year that has made me a stronger person today so I don’t regret it but looking back I should have done a year or two more at club racing level before attempting to race against that level of riders, with such a high profile team.
Rebuilding confidence.
After the difficult year in 2012 I decided to take a year off and re-evaluate where I was going with the motorsport.
Having a big passion for car racing I got in touch with some teams to looking into a 4 wheel venture.
I had a test day at Silverstone with JHR in their Renault Clio Cup race car which was great fun, however I decided not to pursue this route and look back into Motorcycle racing.
2014- 2017 I competed in the Ducati Tri-options cup supporting the British Superbike Championship.
During this same time frame when the uk race season would end in oct, I would then compete in the Middle east over the winter period in the Dubai Superbike championship and also in the Bahrain Superbike championship.
A career highlight for me was finishing 2nd overall in the Bahrain Superbike championship against some fierce rivals.
2018 presented a new challenge where I decided to step up to the British Supersport Championship.
Known for some of the most competitive racing in the world against some of the best riders in the world.
Entering with a small private team effort and a bike not quite suitable it was an impossible task however I certainly enjoyed being out there and rubbing shoulders with road racing legends such as the late William Dunlop and James hillier.
Time for a change.
After a few races in the British Supersport class, i quickly reaslied that to compete at this level I had to give it my all or not bother.
Since I started racing I always struggled with extreme pain in my hips which I always assumed was just how I was built and was made worse by the bike racing.
My love for bike racing kept me going through the pain along with a few pain killers and a lot of stretching each weekend!
Stepping up to the Supersport class just made me realise I could not endure the fitness level needed with the extra length of the races and the strong competition.
I made the quick decision to stop then and there after the 3rd round.
With the racing bug still alive and kicking, I looked seriously into car racing.
After a few chats with various people in the know, I was on the way to the Ginetta factory to collect my first race car!
A few days later i was off to SPA in Belgium to compete in my first car race in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge!
I finished off the year in 2018 by competing in the last 3 rounds of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge with a podium finish at Knockhill!

2019 First full season in a racing car.
With a great few races in 2018 I decided to go for a full season in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge and teamed up with the experienced team Elite Motorsport.
The goal for the season was to win the Am Championship, after winning the first race of the year and battling with some very experienced PRO drivers we felt this was certainly an achievable goal.
During the season I learned a lot about how to drive a car fast, different lines to bike racing, much later braking and faster corner speeds it was certainly an eye opener.
With a lot of success during the year i also had a lot of bad luck with various drivers spinning and crashing in front of me causing me to crash and miss out on valuable points.
I finished up the year 2nd overall in the Am championship and awarded the Sunoco Fastest driver in class trophy.

2020 - Lockdown and hip surgery!
With plans to race in the Ginetta GT5 Championship put swiftly on hold with COVID-19 outbreak, I decided it would be an opportunity to sit the year out and work on myself getting 100% fit for the future.
I thought when i stopped racing bikes in 2018 my underlying hip pains would go away… I was wrong!
Things were actually getting far worse with the more fitness I was doing and decided enough was enough so looked into medical advice.
After some MRI scans it shows I was born with extra bone around my hips which is called a hip impingement, the years of racing just aggravated it to the point where I needed some bone shaved down and joint damage repaired.
To my relief the consultant was able to do it via key hole with a relatively short recovery time! ( if only i knew this 10 years ago. )
I booked myself in straight away and I was under operation for the right hip in August and the left hip in October.
Currently as I write this i am recovering with physio and gearing up for exciting plans for 2021 !
